Group Setup Guide

Setting up BoltFather for your Telegram group is quick and straightforward. Follow these steps to activate access control and manage your community like a pro.

✅ Step 1: Add the Bot to Your Group

  1. Open Telegram and go to your group chat.
  2. Tap the group name > Manage Group > Administrators.
  3. Add @BoltFatherBot as an administrator.
  4. Make sure the bot has the following permissions:
    • Add and remove users
    • Delete messages
    • Restrict members

Without these permissions, the bot cannot enforce access control.

🔗 Step 2: Connect Your Wallet

As a group admin, open a private chat with the bot and:

  1. Click “Start” to activate the bot.
  2. Press “Connect Wallet”.
  3. Choose your TON-compatible wallet and approve the connection.

This is required to set access conditions and use advanced features.

🛠️ Step 3: Configure Group Settings

After connecting your wallet:

  1. Press “Add Group” in the bot menu.
  2. Get chat_id and paste it.

The bot will return the Chat ID.

There are two common types of chat IDs:

  • If the chat ID starts with -4 and contains 10 digits, it refers to a regular group. These groups cannot be integrated with the BoltFather bot.

  • If the chat ID starts with -100 and contains 12 digits, it refers to a supergroup, which can be connected to the bot.

🛠️ How to convert a regular group to a supergroup?

To make your group compatible with BoltFather:

  1. Open Group Settings in Telegram.
  2. Enable the Topics (Forum) feature.
  3. Then disable it again if you don't need it.

This action upgrades a regular group to a supergroup, making it usable with BoltFather features.

  1. Choose your desired Access Type:

    • 🛡️ Private Access — controls who can enter
    • 🗨️ Public Access — controls who can write messages
  2. Set your Access Conditions:

    • Token thresholds (e.g., 100 TON)
    • LP token checks (e.g., DeDust)
    • NFT ownership (by contract)
    • Multi-token logic (10 TON and 100 USDT)
  3. Save your settings.

⚙️ Step 4: Test the Configuration

Once the group is configured:

  • Ask a team member to join using a wallet that meets the condition.
  • Ask another user without tokens to try joining.
  • Check that BoltFather allows or restricts them appropriately.

You can also preview and simulate checks in the bot before enforcing them.

🧪 Step 5: Modify or Delete Conditions

Need to change access rules?

  1. Open the main page
  2. Select your group
  3. Modify, add, or delete conditions as needed
  4. Changes apply instantly

To delete the chat - delete the bot from the group.
